As you ascend, the trail gradually becomes steeper, leading to Machame Camp (3,020m/9,908’), situated on the edge of the forest. Here, you will settle in, enjoy a hearty dinner, and rest under the starlit African sky.

Reaching Lava Tower, you will take a break, allowing your body to adjust to the altitude before descending into the Barranco Valley. The oxygen levels increase, making the trek to Barranco Camp (3,960m/13,000’) more comfortable. This camp is surrounded by towering cliffs and provides one of the most picturesque settings on Kilimanjaro.
